Marci Calabretta Cancio-Bello
Marci Calabretta Cancio-Bello is a Korean American writer and translator. She is the author of Hour of the Ox (University of Pittsburgh, 2016), winner of the Association of Writers and Writing Programs’ (AWP) Donald Hall Prize for Poetry.
Cancio-Bello co-translated the selected works of Korean poet Yi Won, titled The World’s Lightest Motorcycle (Zephyr Press, 2021), which won the 2022 Translation Grand Prize from the Literature Translation Institute of Korea. Her work has appeared in numerous publications, including the New York Times and Poets & Writers.
Cancio-Bello has received fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, Knight Foundation, and the American Literary Translators Association.
Cancio-Bello is a cofounder and board member of the Adoptee Literary Festival and serves as a programs and marketing supervisor for the Miami Book Fair. She lives in Miami.
