Elvira Hernández

Elvira Hernández is a Chilean poet, essayist, and literary critic.

She is the author of Bodies Found in Various Places / Cuerpos encontrados en varias partes (Cardboard House Press, 2025), translated by Daniel Borzutzky and Alec Schumacher, and both short-listed for the Griffin Poetry Prize and nominated for the Gregg Barrios Book in Translation Prize.

The sixth woman and second female poet to receive the 2024 Chilean National Literature Prize, Hernández lives in Santiago.
