How easy it is to lose oneself in a kelp forest. Between canopy leaves, sunlight filters thru the water surface; nutrients bring life where there’d other- wise be barren sea; a vast eco- system breathes. Each being being being’s link.
Early lexicographers and missionaries
translated the Arrernte altyerre as “God”
or “Dream,” in Warlpiri jukurrpa, meaning,
eternal uncreated mother country see
put fetch totemic time of creation eat
for breakfast story film sleep talk track
Lots of accidents
stabilizing this tau-
crossed room
of adobe
shade, spaced
out with crumpled cars
Upon the concrete seal
float squares of light
sun-thaw, snow unsealed
